Aredia Gym, also known as the Aredia Palace, is the fifth Gym in Roria located in Aredia City. The Gym specializes in Ground-Type Pokémon, so players with Electric-type, Poison-type, Fire-type, Rock-type and Steel-Type Pokémon might have a tough time battling him. The Gym Leader is Prince Ryan, who is actually visiting Aredia Ruins at the time player first arrives in Aredia City, requiring the player to find him before the Gym opens. When defeated, he will give the player the Crater Badge.

Aredia Gym is located at the back of Aredia City and resembles the looks of a royal palace. However, the innermost room is actually a burial chamber to mine in search for artefacts. The burial chamber is all dirt and stone for the player to dig.

Gym Puzzle

The Gym's Puzzle is to simply dig underground in search for Prince Ryan. However, in order to gather tools to dig up certain blocks, the player must fight the Gym Trainers hiding in certain areas to acquire a shovel and a pickaxe. One trainer will give a hint on where Prince Ryan is hiding. Once the player finds where Prince Ryan is hiding, a battle will initiate.

  • The name of Prince Ryan came from an Irish surname and was derived from Ó Riain meaning "descendent of Rían", which means "little king", hence making a connection between his name to the noble family.
  • Prince Ryan is based on Dummiez — creator of The Quarry, hence the mining and Ground-type speciality.
