Shadow Void was a dark and eerie space in an alternate dimension that was accessible by entering numerous portals found throughout Roria during the 2017 Halloween Event. The portals could only be entered from the 13th through the 31st of October, 2017. This was where the player could find and encounter Mythical Pokémon Marshadow during the event.

The portal connects many locations in Roria to this world.
In order to reach the Shadow Void, the player had to find a dark purple portal, which appeared randomly at several locations at sunset and lasted overnight until sunrise. They could be found on Lagoona Lake, Routes 9 to 12 and 15, as well as Cosmeos Valley. Stepping on a portal would flip the player's screen and send the player into Shadow Void. As the portal on Lagoona Lake required HM3 Surf to reach, the one on Route 9 was the first portal accessible for new players instead.
When the player was in Shadow Void, the same portal could be found at the beginning of this location for players to leave at will. Note that if the player saved inside Shadow Void, when rejoining the game, he or she would be ejected out of Shadow Void, and may have to find the portal again in another location at night.

Catching Marshadow[]
Once the player reached Shadow Void, he or she had to walk across a short bridge to another pillar, and then stand still for 3 seconds, looking away from where he or she came from. A shadow would form behind the player and a pair of fiery eyes would appear from it. Clicking the eyes would make the shadow rise from the ground, revealing itself to be Marshadow and a battle is initiated.
Be warned that the player only has 1 chance to catch Marshadow, so save beforehand and turn off Autosave. Dusk Balls provide the greatest effect because Shadow Void is only accessible overnight, and as Marshadow is extremely difficult to catch, buying plenty of Dusk Balls from Poké Ball Emporium, Anthian City - Shopping District is almost mandatory before confronting Marshadow.
Warning: Players can only battle the following Pokémon once! Save beforehand and turn off Autosave.

| If attempts of catching the above Pokémon failed, immediately leave the game and rejoin without saving, in order to secure a second chance.
