Route 16 is a downhill route that connects Frostveil City to Cosmeos Valley on the southeastern mountainside of Mt. Cragonos. Many avid and daring hoverboarders enjoy skiing down this route. While it is snowy for the higher ground, the environment becomes mild and temperate as the player travels down the Cragonos Mountain Range.

Notable Places[]

Skitty Lodge[]

Skitty Lodge

The Skitty Lodge at the beginning of Route 16.

Turning west immediately after entering Route 16, there is a large house named the Skitty Lodge. Inside, several Skitty can be seen relaxing on the furniture. The walls are decorated with large Magikarp on plaques.

3 characters, all Main Developers of the game, live inside. The first one seen in a red t-shirt is Oldschooldude2, while the second one, wearing a black top hat and a red scarf, is Kevincatssing, or Kevin Cat. He gives the player a Soothe Bell, which helps Pokémon holding it gain happiness more efficiently. The last person seen inside is Roselius, who claims she is the "queen of memes". There is also a strange grey trapdoor on the left side of the lodge, but it cannot be opened.

Snowboarding[]

This route features a snowboarding time trial. Once the player starts descending the slope on a hoverboard, a timer will start counting up. The key of finishing this race as fast as possible is to hit as many acceleration ramps as the player can. They are marked with red flags and blue arrows, sharply boosting the speed for a few seconds and automatically making the player's avatar perform some stunts when hit. At the bottom of this slope, a male Mountaineer keeps track of the player's personal best time.

Freezing Fissure Entrance[]

Path to Freezing Fissure

Keep right when skiing to find the path for Freezing Fissure.

On the west side of Route 16, there is a pathway that leads to a rocky slope that requires HM8 Rock Climb to access. Keep to the right side when snowboarding to find it and then stray off to a detour. The rocky slope leads to Freezing Fissure — an abandoned icy mineshaft.

Pokémon[]

Wild Pokémon[]

No Pokémon are found on the snowy slopes. All grass patches are located at the bottom of this route.

Note: Rarity levels are estimations according to this scale and might be subject to changes due to different encounter assessment results. If there are any Pokémon with low catch rates, the possibility to flee or requirement of gaining happiness to evolve, recommended Poké Balls for that Pokémon will be shown with the corresponding bag sprite under the Pokémon's name.

Trivia[]

I Have 7 Cats

"I have 7 cats" carved on a rock.

  • The Main Developers inside Skitty Lodge — Kevincatssing, Roselius and Oldschooldude2, are all Map and Model Developers of the game.
    • Kevin mentions running the lodge "with his seven Skitty". This is a reference to him having 7 cats in real life.
    • Roselius breaks the fourth wall by mentioning that she had developed some areas of Roria.
    • There is a text portion carved on a big rock to the south of the Skitty Lodge that says "I have 7 cats". This again references to Kevin's cats in real life and those 7 Skitty in the lodge.
    • Oldschooldude2's dialogue "i'm an old school dude, too." is a reference to his username.
  • Route 16 is the second route in Roria with no Trainer Battles, the first being Route 4.
