Route 17 is a predominantly water route starting from the far end of Decca Beach, with various islands scattered around. On these islands are ruins of walls, suggesting previous dwellers. This route is generally avoided because of the pirate activities around Crescent Town as well as rumours of spirits, but there are some swimmers willing to battle the player.

Notable Places[]

Campfire and Sand Ghost[]

Campfire

The campfire with a few Beach Bums and Babes around.

A group of people have set up a campfire on the second island after docking their boat, where they plan to stay for the night. They mention a frightening tale of sand ghosts devouring some residents previously living on this island overnight, in ancient times when the route was above land. Soon afterwards, it is revealed that the Sand Heap Pokémon Sandygast lurks on all islands, ready to ambush the player at night if he or she steps on a sand lump.

Ruins and Ocean's Origin[]

Route 17 Ruins

Ruins on the 4th island.

Ocean's Origin Exterior

The exterior of Ocean's Origin.

On the fourth island, there is an Adventurer outside the entrance of some ruins who says he is too scared to go in. He tells the player that the whole route was once above land long ago, but the dwellers angered a great beast who caused such a heavy downpour the whole place was flooded. According to legend, the spirits of these people still haunt the islands.

Coincidentally, just opposite to the ruins, there is a cave named Ocean's Origin. It seems to imply that it is the lair of that great beast, but a certain item is required to summon it...

Wild Pokémon[]

Note: Rarity levels are estimations according to this scale and might be subject to changes due to different encounter assessment results. If there are any Pokémon with low catch rates, the possibility to flee or requirement of gaining happiness to evolve, recommended Poké Balls for that Pokémon will be shown with the corresponding bag sprite under the Pokémon's name.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first and only Sea Route in Roria.
  • One of the inaccessible islands is extremely similar to Bikini Atoll from the popular TV show Spongebob Squarepants.
  • Since Wild Bruxish has a slight chance to hold Razor Fang, this is one of the only locations in Roria where items from BP Shop can be obtained outside of Colosseum Marketplace.
