The Normal type is one of the 18 Pokémon elemental types. Normal-type Pokémon vary a great deal in terms of stats and move pools, with some Pokémon capable of learning very powerful moves like Giga Impact or Hyper Beam. However, Normal-type attacks are not super effective against anything and are resisted by Rock-type, as well as Steel-type Pokémon. Normal-type and Ghost-type moves have no effect on each other, making Normal-type Pokémon useful for blocking Ghost-type attacks, although it also can be used the same way backwards. Normal-type Pokémon are weak only to Fighting-type attacks, making the Normal type one of the two types that have only one weakness, the other being the Electric type.
